FAQ

Why should I choose CVC Columns?
There are many reasons why you should choose CVC Columns. Firstly, they are the only economical forms that can be made in any diameter. Engineers can design columns to exact millimetres, avoiding the need to go up a standard size and waste concrete.

CVC Columns can also be stripped, or wound inside out and left in place. The inside out option enables the columns to be coated in plastic, reducing corrosion and impact damage.

And, there are many other reasons to choose CVC Columns – they can be placed and stripped quicker than any other formwork, they reduce building and labour costs, and they are safer.

How long do I have to wait for my order?
As no cutting is required on site, CVC Formwork Columns can be produced quickly to meet your specific requirements. (Exact lengths allow for a very short lead time.) Next day pick-up is generally always available depending on your order size.

What finishes are available?
CVC Columns are available in two finishes. The ‘Structural’ finished column displays a spiral line, while the ‘Architectural’ column forms are lined with a rigid plastic sheet, providing a smooth finish to the concrete column.

Are CVC Columns rigid enough?
CVC Columns might appear limp in their unused state, however as soon as they are placed and filled with concrete they become strong enough to support the evenly distributed internal pressure caused by concrete.

Do CVC Columns require additional bracing?
CVC Columns use the same amount of bracing as other formwork systems. The bracing is used to ensure that the form doesn’t bow away from the steel reinforcing.
